Roots, Shoots, Trowels & Boots (SUM17/18)
This summer course will enable teachers to teach pupils how to recognize the changes in the seasons and identify Ireland's top 20 garden birds, main butterflies, wildflowers and mammals. Participants will also learn how to grow vegetables, herbs and fruit, make simple recipes with pupils and how conduct tree, insect and outdoor trails.
The course will take place in the Navan Education Centre and outside, in the Teresa Madden School Garden on the Centre grounds. Participants will also get the opportunity to go on field trips as part of the week, getting plenty of fresh air to complete the rejuvenation process before returning to school.
Participants will receive detailed notes on all lessons and samples to take back to school. The course will have something for all class levels and all levels of teachers.
Please inform staff immediately if you have to cancel your place. A refund will only to given if the cancellation of your place is two weeks prior to course commencement. The refund will be less admin fee of €10
