We will examine the impact of our language choices, such as the phrase 'minus minus makes plus,' and how these can sometimes lead to frustration and confusion. Additionally, we will explore alternative teaching methods, tools, and strategies to better support student learning. We will also review the best resources available for concept development and diagnostic assessment to effectively aid students' mastery of integers.
Bio of Presenter: Shannon Aherne
Shannon is a Post-Primary Maths and Chemistry teacher and the creator of @craicmatamaitic. She has over 6 years of experience in STEM education and strives to make maths enjoyable for students of all abilities.
