Discussing barriers to reading, focussing on dyslexia, struggling and reluctant readers- A training evening/information session for both teachers and parents

Some children struggle to read while others can read but don’t. This event will explore reading reluctance and some of the barriers, such as dyslexia, which can prevent a child from engaging with text.

How can the way we work or write be modified to support all young people on a journey to enjoyable reading?

Barrington Stoke’s Publicity and Rights Manager, Kirstin Lamb, in conversation with one of their published authors (TBC) and a representative from the Dyslexia Association of Ireland.

Kirstin will speak about Barrington Stoke’s unique approach to the book production process including their dyslexia-friendly font, spacing and paper colour.

The author will give an insight into their editing process which includes the input from a panel of young readers and the Dyslexia Association of Ireland will outline the support and resources they have available.
