Some children struggle to read while others can read but don’t. This event will explore reading reluctance and some of the barriers, such as dyslexia, which can prevent a child from engaging with text.
How can the way we work or write be modified to support all young people on a journey to enjoyable reading?
Barrington Stoke’s Publicity and Rights Manager, Kirstin Lamb, in conversation with one of their published authors (TBC) and a representative from the Dyslexia Association of Ireland.
Kirstin will speak about Barrington Stoke’s unique approach to the book production process including their dyslexia-friendly font, spacing and paper colour.
The author will give an insight into their editing process which includes the input from a panel of young readers and the Dyslexia Association of Ireland will outline the support and resources they have available.
