SP148-21 Webinar Series for SNAs - Sensory Processing; Effects on Behaviour & Learning

Webinar Series for SNAs - Sensory Processing; Effects on Behaviour & Learning - Wed, 14 & 21 April @ 3.30pm
Session 1: April 14th at 3.30pm
Session 2: April 21st at 3.30pm

Session 1: ‘Sensory Processing; Effects on Behaviour & Learning’ - This webinar explores what sensory processing is, with a focus on sensory modulation difficulties. We look at how sensory hyper- and hyposensitivity challenges may present in the classroom, to help increase your understanding of a child’s attempt to self-regulate. Understanding what is going on is a crucial first step in helping children to cope with these sensory challenges.

Session 2: ‘Sensory Processing ; Effects on Behaviour & Learning’ - Building on the knowledge gained in the first webinar, we will further explore how sensory processing affects levels of alertness and arousal. We will discuss practical strategies and environmental adaptations to help the child self-regulate and to promote a calm & alert state conducive to learning.
