An opportunity to get €500 for your school library
Languages Connect is offering targeted funding under the School Library Home Languages Scheme for resources in home languages suitable for EAL students. The scheme is promoted by ELSTA (English Language Support Teachers' Association).
In our ELSTA Ireland Facebook group, you'll find a list of suppliers in the comments section of the library fund post. Feel free to contribute to it.
1.One application per school. SCHOOLS WHICH WERE GRANTED FUNDING UNDER THE SCHOOL LIBRARY SCHEME 2020 ARE NOT ELIGIBLE
2.Books must NOT be in English or Irish. Foreign language and dual language (English/Irish & a foreign language) books are covered.
3.Materials can include foreign language games, maps, talking pens, cartoons, DVDs etc
4.Funding will be approved as you apply. Once funding has been approved, the school acquires the materials.
5.Maximum amount 500 euro (can include postage)
6.The school pays for the materials, and upon the return of the payment records the school will be reimbursed.
7.Should be scheme be over-subscribed, funding will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis
1. Fill in the application form to seek funding for home language books and other resources suitable for EAL students. 3. Deadline for funding application Fri 27th November 2020.
4. Once approved, your deadline for acquiring materials and returning payment records is Mon 14th December 2020.
The scheme implements Action 2.E.4 Schools and libraries should have books, digital resources etc. in 'Languages Connect - Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017-2026'.
