Make A Movie Project 2019
Navan Education Centre is holding an information evening for any teachers or schools interested in taking part in this new and innovative project called: “Make a Movie”. The theme of the project for 2019 will be ‘Remake’.
The aim of this practical project is to introduce and promote filmmaking in schools.
Filmmaking is an excellent way to integrate multiple subjects from the primary curriculum. It offers a novel opportunity to enhance the use of oral language and communication skills, while also promoting creativity, responsibility, individualism and co-operation in students, either in a mainstream classroom or special education setting. Participating in this project is a fun and innovative way to help children to learn in a child-led, discovery based learning setting.
The information evening will introduce all aspects of the filmmaking process to schools, outlining the simple and effective use of filmmaking and providing clear examples of what may be achieved through the process.
There will be two practical two-hour workshops in early 2019 to support teachers to develop filmmaking in schools. Participant schools will be invited to a special screening of all the edited short movies in the Solstice Arts Centre in May 2019.
Due to the nature of the programme, spaces will be limited. Further information will be provided at the Information Workshop which can be booked online at
